Acoustic piano: put your phone or laptop on the music stand, in a quiet room. The page listens for the notes it expects. Single lines work best. For hands together, Normal listening automatically becomes more forgiving: it mostly checks that you kept going with the beat and played close to the right notes.
Digital piano: connect it with USB or Bluetooth MIDI and use Chrome or Edge. Safari doesn't support MIDI keyboards.
Eyes ahead: strong readers look ahead of what they’re playing. Play where the thin orange line is, and let your eyes ride the purple bar in front of it. Three clean runs (90% of the notes, 85% on the beat) move the bar further ahead: half a beat, then 1 beat, 2 beats and a full bar. For a real challenge, hide each note once it’s played. The bar glides smoothly; untick “Glide smoothly” if you prefer it to jump from note to note.
Metronome: with an acoustic piano, leave it off or use headphones, so the microphone doesn't hear the clicks. The count-in always clicks.
